City Extension is bringing back its introductory Meisner workshop on March 7 and March 14, 2026. Whether you’re a would-be actor, a professional actor preparing for the next audition, or a film or stage director looking to give better directions, the Meisner technique will transform your craft. All levels welcome.

The workshop will be facilitated by Nicolas Jupillat, a San Francisco-based public interest lawyer and acting instructor. Nicolas had the privilege to train directly under the late Jacqueline McClintock, a world-renowned Meisner instructor who learned the technique directly from Sanford Meisner himself and went on to coach award-winning actors including Jessica Paré (Mad Men) and Scott Speedman (Grey’s Anatomy).

Meisner emphasizes presence, connection, and truthfulness. This workshop will help you be more present, improve your listening skills, and speak from the truth of the moment. Essential skills that have become critical at a time when our attention is being pulled in all directions and we have fewer in-person interactions.
