Stanford Law School's Criminal Defense Clinic is seeking talented and reliable actors to serve as "mock clients" for our law students. This is a unique opportunity to use your craft to help train the next generation of criminal defense lawyers. 

In this role, you will portray a client of the Criminal Defense Clinic during a two-day in-person client interviewing workshop for law students. Your performance will allow students in our clinic to practice building rapport, navigating difficult conversations, and providing empathetic counsel in a realistic environment.

You'll be provided with a confidential character biography and case summary before each session. Your main task will be to embody this character, responding to the student lawyer's questions as that person would. Strong improvisational skills are key!

Listed below are the dates and times we anticipate running the workshop during the upcoming quarter. The workshop is a two-day experience. We hope you are available each day.  

Part One of Interviews:

Wednesday afternoon, September 24

• Interview 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and the debrief session from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Or

• Interview 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the debrief session from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Part Two of Interviews:

Thursday afternoon, September 25

• Interview 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and the debrief session from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Or

• Interview 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the debrief session from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Compensation:

You will be paid $150 per day. A Stanford University check should be mailed to you within 4 weeks of participation.
