The Western Stage (Salinas, CA) is looking for actor/singers to complete our 2026 Season. We are currently accepting video submissions for the three remaining shows to be cast - SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD, THE MAD ONES and THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL. The Western Stage is a program of Hartnell college - participants will be required to enroll (all fees covered by The Western Stage - non-credit courses available).

SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD:

Casting up to 8 strong actor/singers.

-Male Actors (Aged mid/late 20's - mid 50's) - Vocal Range: C5 - F#2

-Female Actors (Aged mid 20's - mid 50's) - Vocal Range: F50- F#3

All ethnicities are encouraged to audition.

THE MAD ONES:

KELLY - Female (late teens - mid 20's; to play 18): Alto-Mezzo Belt - Samantha’s free spirited best friend, full of life.

ADAM - Male (late teens - mid 20's; to play 18): Tenor-Bari - Samantha’s HS on-again, off-again boyfriend. Kind, a heartthrob. He has great emotional intelligence and the loyalty of a St. Bernard.

THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL:

JEANNIE GARSTECKI - Female (35-45) Mezzo, Low F-High Db - Agoraphobic; Married her high school sweetheart, Norbert, at 17. She hasn’t left her trailer in nearly 20 years.

NORBERT GARSTECKI - Male (35-45) High Bari, A-Eb - Former high school football star with a job as a highway toll collector who’s fed up with his agoraphobic wife. Sparks fly when he meets Pippi, a stripper at a local club, The Litterbox Show Palace.

PIPPI - Female (28-35) Belt, Low F-High F - Armadillo Acres’ newest resident, she’s a stripper on the run from her ex. She’s trying not to make bad choices.

BETTY - Female (mid 40's-mid 50's) Growl Belt, Low F-Db - Greek chorus-like trio that guides the narrative, playing various characters and genders while breaking the fourth wall at whim to air their own dirty laundry.

DONNA "Pickles" - Female (Late Teens-20s) Belt, Strong Low A-Strong High F - Greek chorus-like trio that guides the narrative, playing various characters and genders while breaking the fourth wall at whim to air their own dirty laundry.

DUKE - Male (24-28) Rock Tenor, Bass D-G - Pippi’s marker-sniffing ex-boyfriend, who’s hellbent on finding her after she ran out on him in Oklahoma City without a word or a forwarding address. Mayhem could be his middle name.
